Here's a quick time line:
April 1997 - Shiver U.K. performs the song 1000 Years for the first time with The Sleepwalker on vocals and Bass, EZB on Guitar, Notar on Guitar, and Tommy J. on Drums. This would be the last ever Shiver U.K. show
May 1997 - The Sleepwalker records Sink and 1000 years with hopes of finding a band to join him. Additional vocals on 1000 Years are done by PunK. Recordings were distributed under the band name Entropical Utopia
May 1997 - Original Lineup proposal included Liquid Todd on Drums, Mistress X on Bass, and both Tink (of Cookie Galore) and The Sleepwalker on guitar and vocals
June 1997 - BTR is officially formed with the lineup of Liquid Todd on Drums, Notar on Bass, Trademark on Keys, and The Sleepwalker on Guitar and Vocals
July 1997 - Trademark parts with the band to begin a solo career
August 1997 - The first BTR release is featured on Buttmunch Records' 80's Covers Compilation. BTR did a cover of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades"
August 1997 - 4 Track Basement demo recorded with the help of producer EZB
Late 1997 - Mistress X becomes a regular member of the band
February 20, 1998 - BTR plays its first show opening for the popular ska band, Perfect Thyroid. Audience is surprisingly receptive despite the style clash. Some appeared confused, but none angry.
March 1998 - BTR records at local radio station WHRW with the aid of Rick Diesel and then songs were mixed with the aid of EZB.
April 1998 - "Blinded" was selected to be on the third compilation CD put out by WHRW called "Moe's Triple Bypass"
April 24 1998 - BTR performs acoustically under the name Binary Task Record
May 9 1998 - BTR performs at the WHRW cd release party which is broadcast live on the air. BTR's set included a cover of the Bauhaus song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" with Cookie Galore
June 3 1998 - The Sleepwalker demo version of 1000 Years is chosen as the song of the day on MP3.COM
